Oaty Chocolate Chip Cookies
Delving into Mum's well loved recipe book years ago, I found this recipe for Oaty Chocolate Chip Cookies. They are quite delicious. Quick and easy to make and full of simple ingredients you'll find in the pantry. A tasty family favourite.
Ingredients
1 C S.R flour
1 C rolled oats
1/2 C brown sugar
1 T golden syrup
100g butter
1/2 C chocolate buttons (chopped roughly)
Method
Melt butter and golden syrup together
In a separate bowl mix flour, oats, sugar and chocolate together
Make a well in centre of dry ingredients
Pour butter/golden syrup mixture into well
Mix
Roll into balls, and place on a greased oven tray
Press down gently on each cookie with a fork
Cook in a moderate oven (approx 160 degrees celsius) for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown
Remove from oven and leave on tray for a few minutes to cool slightly
Place cookies onto a rack to cool completely
Store in an airtight container
Tips
If you don't have self raising flour, you can make it by adding 1 1/2 tsp of baking powder to every 1 C of plain flour.
